Fitness Friday – Strengthening

Sorry I haven’t posted a Fitness Friday in ages!! But better late than never!

I want to give a huge thanks to my little sister for taking the time to pose for the exercises, and to my older sister who actually took the pictures of her!

Exercise number 1:

The Sit-Ups.

I’m sure we all know the sit ups, they feel like they are better than crunches…but are a lot harder. I feel like these allow me to do less, but have the same impact as if I did a hundred of them!

crunch 1of3Start how you normally would. Heather used 5 pound weights.

crunch 3of3 Squeeze all your muscles, EXCEPT your neck, and pull your self up. I recommend tucking your feet under something that won’t move. It’ll make this exercise  10 times easier!

crunch 2of3 SLOWLY lean back down. Remember to keep your arms straight while holding the weights.

Exercise number 2:

The Lunges.

lunge Remember to switch your legs, are bend them till they are at 90 degrees. Your butt and thighs will thank you.

Lazy girl tip: these are perfect to do during commercials while watching tv 🙂

Exercise number 3:

Inner Thighs.

fitness 1of2 Cross one leg over the other, and squeeze everything you got and lift you lower leg.

Lazy girl tip: this is perfect to do while watching YouTube videos, or reading blogs!

My Daily Night Skincare

First I use Neutrogena All-in-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Lotion to remove all my makeup.

Then I’ll splash my face with water to remove the extra lotion and use The Body Shop scrubby thingy to exfoliate my face with the Neutrogena Natural Acne Cream Cleanser.

Finally after washing all that off I brush my teeth. Then I apply Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel on my breakouts.

I would recommend ALL these products, I’ve been using them for the past few months and love them.

PROM is Just Around the Corner!

Prom season has started! I sadly will not be attending prom this year, because I’m not in highschool any more.

Lucky for you though, I have gathered a few tips and tricks for a successful prom night!

Tip One: The Dress

You want to fall in love with this dress the moment you see it, and you want it to be unique (so don’t try to shop in your hometown)

I actually ordered my prom dress online. The bonus of online shopping is you get more variety, and there is a less likelihood of someone getting the same one.

One site that I fell in love with is Victoria’s Dress ( and they ship worldwide!

They have a TON of dress options, and different options for different occasions.

My favourite things of this site?

  • The variety of sizes, yes they even have a plus size prom dresses for all of us full figured ladies.
  • They have a cheap prom dresses selection

I know dress shopping can be a little overwhelming so I picked a short prom dresses and a long prom dresses for different body types to help you out, all these dresses can be found at their website! 🙂

With this body shape you want something that is going to snitch in at the waist to make it appear as though you have that hourglass figure. You also want to invest in a push up bra so your bust will balance out the faux waist. I love the second dress because your bust, butt and waist will be accented to the perfect amount.

If you have a petite body shape, you want something that’ll make you look few inches taller. I personally think a long dress would be ideal with some heels, the solid colour with make you appear taller than you are. If you’re more of a short dress gal, you want mainly a solid colour and killer heels.

Pear shapes want to accent their smaller busts, and hide their larger hips. Go for a soft flowly bottom half and a dramatic design/cut for the top.

Hour Glass:

You want to flaunt what you got. I LOVE the first dress, it hugs all the right places and subtly flares out, with the sexy leg opening you’ll have your date or all the single guys’ eyes on you. But honestly….you can wear any type of dress you want.

Dress one is for the ladies who have the mile long legs…show them off. The second dress is for ladies, like me, who have long torso…take advantage of it and wear a simple deep cut dress.

If you need that extra support? go ahead and rock those straps. First dress is here and the second here. So you have a curvy figure? Go for solid colours and emphasize your lovely bust. Having the dress snitch in at the waist will create that hour glass figure, while hiding all your lovely bumps.

2) Velvet Revoler on the lid of the eye

3) Heaven in the inner corner of the eye lid

4) Silk Teddy on the middle/inner eye lid

5) mix between Sexspresso and Erotica and apply the most natural look eye liner in the outer corner of the eye with an angled brush

6) curl your lashes and apply your favourite mascara, if you want apply fake lashes, go ahead!

7) conceal and add your favourite full coverage foundation

8) fill in your eyebrows with a higher arch because Kylie has a high arch

How to Press Pigments

Over the holidays I bought a MAC pigment pack. It included:
– Pink Glitter
– Grey Glitter
– Vanilla
– Kitschmas
– Push The Edge
I knew I wouldn’t use pigments a lot so I decided why not press them so I can use them more often!
Here’s how I press pigments!

What you need:
– Rubbing Alcohol Compound
– empty pans
– magnets (for the empty pans)
– a quarter
– makeup remover wipes
– something to mix the pigments and alcohol
– eye dropper (mine is from the medicine you get when you are a child)

First you cut the magnets and put them on the back of the pan so you can put them in a palette

Place paper towel underneath everything for an easy clean up. Then clean the pan with the alcohol and pick up some alcohol with your eye dropper tool thingy.

Put the pigment into the pan, enough that it will cover most of the bottom of the pan.
Then add the alcohol until all the pigment is absorbed from the alcohol.

Mix till it’s like a paint substance and leave it off to the side to dry for 15-20 mins.

Once the pigment is dry, take the quarter and place it in a tissue. Wrap the tail of the tissue around itself so the side is smooth.

Press it down, and add more pigment if there is still more room in the pan.
Continue these steps until you have your desired amount and leave it to dry for 24 hours!

Fitness Friday: at home cardio

Welcome to the new fitness series on my blog!! It will include tips, workouts, and other ways to help keep you going with your healthy lifestyle!

One: Jumping Jacks

I’m sure all of you know how to do jumping jacks….

Here are some fun facts about them that’ll make you want to do them all day long:

Since jumping jacks gets your heart rate going you will burn more calories the longer you push yourself. They aren’t going to stress your body out and you won’t feel sore the next day. Try doing them for a minute a day until that becomes too easy and then try for two minutes

Two: Leg Kicks

This can be done a million different ways. You can Google all the different kinds. The one I typically do is when you stand up straight and kick one of your legs forward to touch your hand. And repeat with the other leg.

Your butt will look amazing after these.

Three: Knee Lifts

Similar to the leg kicks, they are a few different ways to do these. The simple basic way is to touch your knee to your hands.

Benefits: strength and definition in your lower abdominal, and strength in your lower back
