Prom Hair and Makeup Tutorial #1

So apparently some people have prom in April!? Here in Canada there is still under 10 degrees so we all have our proms in June. Sorry if I did miss your prom but for the ladies who still have a few months here is a little inspiration for you.

The first prom makeup and hair tutorial is a natural smokey eye.

Now before I do anything I would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to my model who happens to be my little sister, Heather, if you want to know more about her or want to follow her instagram the link will be at the end.

The foundation shown in this picture does have SPF but it is low so it’ll still wash you out but not as much as a higher SPF

PROM is Just Around the Corner!

Prom season¬†has started!¬†I sadly will not be attending prom this year, because I’m not in highschool any more.

Lucky for you though, I have gathered a few tips and tricks for a successful prom night!

Tip One: The Dress

You want to fall in love with this dress the moment you see it, and you want it to be unique (so don’t try to shop in your hometown)

I actually ordered my prom dress online. The bonus of online shopping is you get more variety, and there is a less likelihood of someone getting the same one.

One site that I fell in love with is Victoria’s Dress ( and¬†they ship worldwide!

They have a TON of dress options, and different options for different occasions.

My favourite things of this site?

  • The variety of sizes, yes they even have a plus size prom dresses¬†for all of us full figured ladies.
  • They have a¬†cheap prom dresses selection

I know dress shopping can be a little overwhelming so I picked a short prom dresses¬†and a¬†long prom dresses¬†for different body types to help you out, all these dresses can be found at their website! ūüôā

With this body shape you want something that is going to snitch in at the waist to make it appear as though you have that hourglass figure. You also want to invest in a push up bra so your bust will balance out the faux waist. I love the second dress because your bust, butt and waist will be accented to the perfect amount.

If you have a petite body shape, you want something that’ll make you look¬†few inches taller.¬†I personally think a long dress would be ideal with some heels, the solid colour with make you appear taller than you are.¬†If you’re more of a short dress gal, you want mainly a solid colour and killer heels.

Pear shapes want to accent their smaller busts, and hide their larger hips. Go for a soft flowly bottom half and a dramatic design/cut for the top.

Hour Glass:

You want to flaunt what you got.¬†I LOVE the first dress, it hugs all the right¬†places and subtly flares out, with the sexy leg opening you’ll have your date or all the single guys’ eyes on you.¬†But honestly….you can wear any type of dress you want.

Dress one is for the ladies who have the mile long legs…show them off.¬†The second dress is for ladies, like me, who have long torso…take advantage of it and wear a simple deep cut dress.

If you need that extra support? go ahead and rock those straps. First dress is here and the second here. So you have a curvy figure? Go for solid colours and emphasize your lovely bust. Having the dress snitch in at the waist will create that hour glass figure, while hiding all your lovely bumps.
